My 3 Favorite Email Lists For Learning

One of the things I’m known for and teach often is saving time in your email inbox. I once had a client call me “the email slasher guy.” Probably not the label I was going for when I started my business coaching practice 6 years ago, but there could be worse:)

My research shows that my clients spend 11-18 hours per week stuck in their email inbox. That’s a lot of time! Better email management is an excellent opportunity to free up time and here’s a quick video I created to help you do this: Video – How To Save Time On Email

So you might be wondering, “If you’re the “email slasher guy,” trying to rid the world of as many emails as possible, why the heck are recommending these three email lists? Isn’t that adding to the problem?

Great question. I’m not suggesting that you delete your email account or unsubscribe to every email you receive. I am suggesting that you unsubscribe to emails that no longer are worth your precious time and keep the few that are.

If you’d like to quickly unsubscribe or put most of your emails into a once-a-day daily digest that you can rapidly scan, I highly recommend the free tool Unroll.me. Here’s a video I created on how to use it: Video – How To Use Unroll.me To Cut Down On Email

Here are My 3 Favorite Email Lists For Learning

#1 For Habit Building and Wisdom

I am a big fan of James Clear’s 3-2-1 email. James is the author of one of my favorite books, Atomic Habits, and teaches how to make habits stick. In each email, he shares 3 ideas, 2 quotes, and 1 question. It lives up to his bold tagline of “delivering the most wisdom per word of any newsletter on the web.”

#2 For Everything Content and Conversion

When I think of content and conversion, I immediately think of Andy Crestodina’s newsletter. Andy is a co-founder of Orbit Media and is a top-rated keynote speaker on this topic at Social Media Marketing World and Content Marketing World. In his email newsletter and blog, Andy truly lives his content mantra of “create the best resource on the internet” with every post.

#3 For Everything Paid Social

In the fast-changing world of paid social, I highly recommend the Foxwell Digital Download with Andrew and Gracie Foxwell. Full disclosure, they are clients of mine, but that’s not why I included their email on this list… it’s that good! In each edition, they break down the latest paid social news, what’s working now, and insight from top media buyers who are “in the trenches.” It feels a little like being a fly on the wall inside a leading media buyer’s mastermind meeting.
